Installing MenuMachine

Once you have downloaded the MenuMachine software file, follow these instructions.

IMPORTANT GoLive 6 users: You must update to GoLive 6.0.1.
GoLive 6.0.1 is a free update available from Adobe's site.
Go directly to GoLive Macintosh OR GoLive Windows. More information here.

Note: If you have had MenuMachine installed before, you MUST remove any old MenuMachine folders from your GoLive > Modules > Extend Scripts folder and place them outside of the GoLive folder. If the activation screen appears twice, you have not removed the old MenuMachine files correctly.

Windows Instructions

1) The downloaded file is called MenuMachine174Win.zip or MenuMachine174Win.exe.

Double-click on this file to expand it.

If you downloaded the .zip file, make sure you use settings in your unzip software that will preserve folder structure within the extracted MenuMachine folder.

Note the "Use folder names" option is checked...

 

The downloaded files extracts to a folder called MenuMachine-Open Me.
This is NOT the folder that is to be installed.

Inside you will see some files for you to read called 'Instructions and Documentation.url', 'license.html', 'release notes.html' and a folder called MenuMachine. It is this inner MenuMachine folder only which is to be placed in the location below.

If you are using GoLive 6.0.1, move the MenuMachine folder to
Adobe GoLive 6.x folder > Modules > Extend Scripts
or

If you are using GoLive CS, move the MenuMachine folder to
Adobe GoLive CS folder > Modules > Extend Scripts

Macintosh Instructions

1) If you use Mac OS9, the download should be called MenuMachine 174.smi.
If you use Mac OSX, the download should be called MenuMachine 174.dmg.

Double-click on this file to decompress it if it has not already automatically decompressed.

A volume called MenuMachine 1.7.4 will be mounted on the desktop.
A window opens automatically.

Inside this window you will see some files for you to read called 'Instructions and Documentation.webloc', 'license.html', 'release notes.html' and a folder called MenuMachine. It is this inner MenuMachine folder only which is to be placed in the location below.

2) If you are using GoLive 6.0.1, move the MenuMachine folder to
Adobe GoLive 6.x folder > Modules > Extend Scripts
or
2)
If you are using GoLive CS, move the MenuMachine folder to
Adobe GoLive CS folder > Modules > Extend Scripts
or
2)
If you are using GoLive CS2, move the MenuMachine folder to
Adobe GoLive CS2 folder > Modules > Extend Scripts

Installation Instructions Continued…

For the next part of the installation, you need to be connected to the internet. When GoLive is launched, MenuMachine will register and be activated via your internet connection. You will only need to be online the first time you launch GoLive after installing MenuMachine or updating MenuMachine.

If you are using a proxy server, ensure GoLive is using it by going to
Preferences > Network and enter in the details. If you do not do this, registration may not be successful.

3) If you are not already connected to the internet, do so now.

When you first launch GoLive after installing MenuMachine, you will see the following registration window.

Copy and paste your serial number from the email sent by Kagi or SWREG, making sure there are no carriage returns or spaces at the end of the number.

If you cannot get registration to successfully process because you are using a proxy which requires authentication, please contact support.
